Explore the Gateway to the Atchafalaya

Start your journey with a visit to the Atchafalaya Welcome Center. Explore the 5,856 sq. ft. cultural museum, where interactive exhibits, animatronics, and video presentations bring the unique history and geography of the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp to life. Learn about the diverse wildlife and the cultural richness of South Louisiana. 

Hop back on I-10 and head east to Henderson for an educational Crawfish Tour with Team Voodoo Crawfish Tours. Dive into the multi-billion-dollar crawfishing industry and witness the entire process from pond to plate. Learn the fascinating details of crawfish farming, a vital industry in Louisiana.

Just down the road, enjoy a delicious lunch at Crawfish Town USA. This local spot specializes in boiled crawfish, as well as many other fried and grilled Louisiana seafood items, the restaurant offers a large variety of classic Cajun dishes & platters, top-grade beef & pasta dishes, as well as award-winning specials. Crawfish Town USA also offers a Fresh Market next door, where you can purchase fresh seafood or prepared food portions to take home. 

After lunch, head over to the Louisiana Marketshops at the 115, just look for the bright, yellow exterior, you can't miss it! The Marketshop, named after the Interstate 10 exit, isn't just a store, it's a gallery, an antique mall, and a maker's market.  Wandering through the shop, you'll find home décor, art, books, music, metalwork, souvenirs, and so much more!

Head towards the levee and immerse yourself in Louisiana's beautiful and mysterious Atchafalaya Basin, with a Swamp Tour.
