October 11, 2008 5th Annual Okra Festival New Market Street, St. Martinville 10:00 am to 5:00 pm; Cook-off starts at 6:00 am The African-American Musuem will host it's 5th Annual Okra Festival with the traditional Cook-Off Competition in historic downtown St. Martinville on New Market Street. This year's festival will have activities for the entire family. Activities include live zydeco music, an Okra Cook-Off competition featuring unique Okra dishes, entertainment by local dance and high schools, Okra King and Queen presentations, food, crafts and drink booths.
