Table Mêlée, St. Martinville
Join us on Feb. 13, 2019 at 4pm at St. Martinville`s Tourism offices (2nd floor of Acadian Memorial) for our very first Table Mêlée (or mixed table).
Our organizing group of French and Creole speakers met a few weeks ago and had so much fun telling stories and getting to know each other that we decided we wanted to keep doing it.
St. Martin Parish is among the most Francophone and Creolophone in Louisiana. And many of those folks speak both Louisiana French and Creole. So we thought it would be a natural to bring both of those languages together for an experiment.
Despite all of the varieties of languages all over Louisiana and the world, we somehow find a way to understand each other on a daily basis. We hope you will join us the 2nd Wed. of the month.
The Acadian Memorial is located at 121 South New Market St., just past the Evangeline Oak on the banks of the Bayou Teche. For more information or directions, contact St. Martinville Tourism at 337-394-2233 or at email@example.com.
On va se voir le 13 février pour un bon temps mêlé!
