Louisiana Crafts Guild's Open Studio Tour will feature over one hundred artists and craftsmen at thirty-two studios or galleries throughout Acadiana, but with most of the artists concentrated in the Lafayette area. This makes the Tour by far the largest one since its inception in 1971.

The two-day event is free and open to the public, and is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th, and at noon on Sunday, November 18th.  The event will end at 5:00 p.m. on both days.

In addition to Lafayette, participating artists and craftsmen will be located in Sunset, New Iberia, Arnaudville, Scott, Duson, Youngsville,  Morse, Breaux Bridge, and Carencro. A good many of the galleries and studios will have several artists and craftsmen at their sites, and most will have works for sale.   Many will also be showing their works in progress, another popular feature of the Tour.

Art available for viewing and sale will include everything from oil and acrylic paintings to jewelry, woodwork, pottery, sculpture, glass, metalwork, watercolors, whimsical drawings, blacksmith works, assorted flights of fancy, and a whole lot more.  There surely will be something for everyone, and the gifting season is fast approaching.

Tour participants are free to pick and choose which galleries/studios they will visit and which artists they will see. Those making the tour will need their own transportation -  this is definitely not a walking tour.

Brochures with a list of the artists and craftsmen, the type of work they do and where they will be showing on the weekend of the Tour will be available at the Lafayette Welcome Center on the Evangeline Thruway, at the Sans Souci Fine Crafts Gallery by Don’s downtown, and at the Lafayette Art Association at 1008 East St. Mary in the Oil Center.
