Included in the program are feeding areas located at the Nature Center and a slough lookout. Bird watchers come from around the world to experience the wildlife on Lake Fausse Pointe. Come and learn about our Park's history, wildlife, geology, and trail systems through outstanding displays and exhibits (many interactive) at the Interpretive Center. Wednesdays, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, St. Martinville - Louisiana in America, 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Guests will learn how the transfer of power affected the state with Louisiana was purchased by the United States in 1803. A video will explain how the purchase took place and its affect on both the United State and Louisiana. Guests will then tour through the Olivier Plantation House and the Acadian Farmstead to learn more about life in Louisiana in the early 1800s.
