Children In Nature ProgramOngoing, Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, St. Martinville - Wildlife Attracting Program. The Nature Center includes feeding areas and a slough lookout. Children In Nature ProgramOngoing, Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, St. Martinville - Interpretive Center, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Get the most out of your visit to Lake Fausse Pointe State Park. Come and learn about our Park's history, wildlife, geology, and trail systems through outstanding displays and exhibits (many interactive) at the Interpretive Center. Wednesdays, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, St. Martinville - Creole Housekeeping, 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to follow the site ranger on a walk through a 19th century Creole home. Everyone will learn what tools and equipment were important for the upkeep and daily life on a French Creole Plantation. For more information call 888-677-2900 toll free or 394-3754 locally.

Jan. 29, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, St. Martinville - Vigilantes on the Bayou, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. This program will depict a violent era in the history of South Louisiana. Two encampments will be setup, one camp to portray the vigilantes and one group at the farmstead to portray the anti-vigilantes.
