Romance Under the Oak: A St. Martinville Tradition

Join the Acadian Memorial and Old Castillo Bed & Breakfast for a romantic Valentine celebration, Evangeline style! The evening includes free admission to the Memorial for 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. showings of the locally filmed silent movie classic and 6 p.m. reception next door at the Old Castillo.  Complete the evening with a visit to the legendary Evangeline Oak, a historically popular spot to "pop the question." 121 S. Feb. 16, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, St. Martinville - Spring into History (Free School Program), 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. This program will include tours through the Olivier Plantation House circa 1815 and the Acadian Farmstead. Information about planting and the work that was done to prepare for spring will be the focus of this program.
