Old Time Square Dance
Friday April 4th, 2008 8-11pm at
Cypress City Antiques, Arnaudville, LA
Admission is $5 (directions: From I-49, take exit 11. Travel through Grand Coteau and continue on Hwy. 93 for about 7 miles. Cypress City is a large wooden building on the right before you reach town. There will be a sign for the dance out front). Different than western square dancing, traditional southern squares are done to live music. A caller teaches participants each dance before that dance begins. It is not necessary to bring a partner and beginners are welcome. Live music will be provided by the Cane Grinders from Baton Rouge. The dance will be called by Steve Bing who recently moved to Baton Rouge after calling old timey dances for over 25 yrs in Ohio.
